Septemeber favs

Hello :)

I am sorry for not updating my blog as often.I've been so busy.
There are couple of products I was using almost every day,so I thought I would share this with you.

Fav

-I received sample of Clarins foundation months back,I just never tried it.This months I found it again.I loved it.I used it about 10 times because it's generous sample. My shade 8 is perfect match for me,it dries to beautiful matte finish, but not too matte, lasting power is really great.I have combination to oily skin and I really like this.
-Illamasqua blush in Desobey was in my August favs, too.I use it for contouring and I use it every single day for 2 months, but if you look in the pan it looks like brand new one.Love it.
-MUFE HQ powder I use to set my makeup. It gives me nice finish and doesn't make me oily for hours.
-MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre I use for base.It gives me slighly yellow colour which I ike because it's neutralise redness. It helps my eye shadows not to crease.
-This months I used MAC Smoke&Diamonds a lot.Sometimes as a lid colour and then some MAC Carbon in crease,or I used it as a crease colour if my lid colour is some light colour. It's perfect grey.I don't see anything special like people raved about this one, like it's grey and taupe and with some interesting green sheen.Well,on my lids it's just grey. But perfect kind of grey with beautiful texture.
-MAC Naked Lunch is great for highlight or just as a lid colour when you are too lazy for doing some complex eyelook.
-Finally,Illamasqua sheer lipgloss in Lily-Rose(swatch in previous post).Since I've got this,I used it every day. It's perfect combination of red and pink. Not too bright, with beatiful texture.Loved it.

Big kiss for my readers.

The Importance of customer service

Hey lovelies,

As you know,I had problem with Illamasqua Matt Primer.I contacted them and they told me to send them product back and they will refund me.So I did.

I was impressed how quickly they responded on my e-mails.I know they are growing brand and probably they are receiving tons of emails.
Two days ago I received package from them. And I know I didn't order anything. When I opened it,I found Illamasqua poster, note, eyeshadow and 3 lipglosses.Imagine how happy I was.And they send me email that they looked up what I order previously so that they can know what I like.I was seriously impressed. It's not that they send me stuff, which is really nice gesture, but the time they spend replying on my e mails and note which was handwritten?I was thrilled. Most of the companies would offer to refund and that's it.

Which got me thinking, how important customer service is to you?
My thoughts are that I can easily forgive bad products, but bad customer service? No,no.

I had difficulties with my computer,so I can't write as often.I hope that you are all doing well.

Xoxo

D.

UPDATE:
I am posting pic of my gift :) Poster and note are private :D I didn't swatch Repulse, but it's beautiful opaque black.

Cherished ones-August 2009

August is almost over and I was reaching for the same products almost every day.So my favs for this months are:

1) MAC 150 brush
I use this brush every single day. It's full and dense and I am using it for applying loose powder.

2)Illamasqua Powder Blush-Desobey
Don't use it as a blush, but all month I am using it for contouring.Shade is really good for that purpose and I love the texture.

3)MAC Eyeshadow-Gorgeous Gold
I love this colour for summer. It's muted yellow-gold.It looks great all by itself,it's great with green colors. It's subtle and wearable.

4)Urban Decay Primer Potion
I don't now how people can wear eyeshadow in summer without primer :)
Usually I switch between UDPP and MAC Paint Pots, but for some reason, this month I use UDPP everyday.

5)Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss-Mistress
I am in love with this lipgloss. It's such a pigmented and beautiful colour. It's almost neon combination of orange and pink. But,if you put a tiny amount,it will give you such a nice colour that can be worn every day.It brightens my whole face. And this is my absolute fav for this month.

I would love to know what's your favs for this month :)

Illamasqua-First impressions

I received my Illamasqua parcels few days ago.
Would like to share with you my thoughts about this brand.
I waited 10 days to get them(international shipment). That's quite nice.
Here is my order:

Lipstick - Fetish
Lipstick - Sonnet
Intense Lipgloss - Besotted
Intense Lipgloss - Mistress
Intense Lipgloss - Fierce
Powder Blusher - Disobey
Illuminator - Poised
Light Liquid Foundation - LF215
Matt Primer + SPF 20
Loose Powder - LP005
Satin Primer + SPF 20

Illamasqua

Illamasqua

Here are some pics/swatches/ingredients of Matt Primer.
I was thinking about contact Illamasqua about this product. It smells so,so,so bad I can't stand it on my face.Satin Primer is OK,and I think that probably they should smell the same.Anyone has the same issue?

IllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasqua

Satin Primer
I tried it couple of times on my cheeks. It doesn't have that silky texture(nor do Matt Primer) as I thought it would. It feels like a moisturizer, but stickier.I use it only on my cheeks since I have oily skin.I still have to test it,so than I will do full reviews.Love the SPF 20.

IllamasquaIllamasqua

Light foundation
When I saw how it looked,I thought no way this is gonna match my skintone.
But it did.Eventough it looks a bit orangey, too warm and yellow for my skintone,it blends quite nicely.

IllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasqua

Loose powder

I heard some nice thinks about Illamasqua powder.Since I wasn't sure which shade should I get,I order 005.It doesn't brighten my skin like I heard. But,I don't have light skintone. It's so soft,it gives a nice finish and you don't look too powdery. On my skin,it is transparent. It comes with cute sponge.

IllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasqua

Powder Blush

I love it.I order shade Disobey.On my pic it's a bit too yellow.In real life,it's more brownish.
I use it for contouring. It's just the right shade, not too dark. It's matte, texture is unbelivable soft,it's so easy to blend.

IllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasquaIllamasqua

Lipstick

I order 2 shade.Fetish is more purple in real life. It's soft, creamy and just amazing for your alter ego :)
Sonnet is peachy/nude lipstick.Don't like the texture of this. It's not as creamy, don't stay as long as I wanted to.

IllamasquaIllamasqua

Intense lipgloss

I love it.They are not too sticky,glossy enough,soooooo pigmented.
IllamasquaIllamasquaPhotobucket

Illuminator

Swatch of illuminator above.
It's pinkish illuminator with a lot of shimmer, not glitter which is nice. You need to blend this really fast, since it dries pretty fast. You can use it as a lipgloss to add some shimmer,or over the lipstick. You can use it as a higlight if you like pink tones for that purpose :)

Illamasqua

All in all,I would definatelly like to try more products of this brand.Love the packaging, colour choice, customer service, pigmentation.Yes,they are expensive, but I think it's worth it.I think about ordering more lipglosses and blushes :)
Only thing I don't like it smell of Matt Primer, but as I said,I will contact them,Maybe it's just mine :)

The Body Shop Shimmer Waves

I bought Shimmer Waves 01 Bronze in Malta...Oh,beautiful Malta :)
And I totally forgot I have this.Does this happen to you guys, too? To buy something and than buy another things, and forgot that you even have it? :)

From thebodyshop website:
'Best if you want to: Sweep colors together for a stunning, all-over glow on the face and cheeks or use each one individually on the eyes or to accent specific areas.
Best for: all skin types
What it is designed to do:
* Pearl pigments provide shimmer and sparkle, helping to disguise fine lines around the eye area.
* Ultra-fine talc is a high-performance powder that enables smooth and even application.
* Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier
.'

The thing that I love about this product is that you can use it as a bronzer,to highlight,as an eyeshadow. It's not orange,so if you want to use it as a bronzer, that's a good thing :)

Here are some swatches:

TBSTBSTBSTBSTBS

I really like the fact that what you see is what you get.I hate when you buy product and the color in pan looks nice, and then you put it on your face and it's different.
Natural lighting:
TBS

With flash:
TBS

See?It's exactly the same :)

Size:8.5 gr(0.3 oz)
Price:$22.00/£15.65
Source:http://www.thebodyshop.com

So,I like this product.I like the fact that the product is versatile,it's big so you have enough product,as a bronzer is really nice, not orange, not muddy, easy to blend, nice highlight color, you can create nice look on your eye.
What I like the most is that colors stay perfectly divided in pan.So you mix them together with brush.Usually, products like this get all muddy, colors mix up together. Not with this one :) I hate when you buy product divided in 2 parts and sometimes you want to use one color or other, sometimes both. And when you mix them, you can't unmixed them :) With TBS,as you can see,it has 5 parts,I used it and still colors are nicely divided.

What I don't like is it can be too shimmery. But,what is the summer without shimmer :)

Make Up For Ever e/s swatches and reviews

I heard so many nice things about MUFE e/s,so of course I had to try it :)
I ordered it online,so I couldn't wait to get them. And do you know that feeling when you are too excited to get something, and then when you do,it's like...what was all the fuss? :)
It's not like I am dissapointed,but I expected...who knows what :)

I bought empty 10 pan palette and 8 eyeshadows.I wanted neutral shades,since I wear them a lot,and of course,famous 92,purple e/s.
First of all, palette is made from nicer material than MAC one.I mean,it looks nicer, but quality of MAC is better. Also, when you put MUFE e/s in the palette, that's it.It's so hard to pop them out. With MAC,there isn't problem like that.MUFE is longer than MAC palette, but MAC is wider.(I was cleaning MAC palette, sorry it's still wet)

MAC MUFE
MAC,MUFE
MAC,MUFE

MUFE eyeshadows are bigger.
MUFE,MAC

And here are some swatches:

Discriptions:

92 - Purple Matte
76 - Beige Matte
17 - Espresso Matte
7 - White Shimmer Iridescent
29 - Chocolate Matte
39 - Plum Matte
138 - Iridescent Chocolate
101 - Lemon Shimmer Iridescent

First picture is without any base.I am not happy with them without it.Even tough 92 is so bright in pan,on my eye it's not that bright. You can see that it's purple, but it's not that great. When you touch eyeshadow,it's really nice, silky, but it's kind of hard to work with matt texture. So I tried with a base. And it's way better.I use UDPP as a primer.Color pay off is so much better. And they really stay a long time. It's a bit hard to blend them.
This 76 colors is exactly the same time as my lids.101 and 7 are beautiful as highlights. All brown shades are great for crease, but as I said, hard to blend so you need more time. But,it's worth it because they stay put.

All in all, without base,I really don't recommend them. But with good primer, they are really nice.I don't like them as much as MAC because it's easier to work with MAC eyeshadows(not all of them),but I would like to try other MUFE finishes, too.

So,do you have any MUFE e/s?What do you think about them?

Illamasqua foundation shades?

Hello lovelis :)

Just a quick post.Since I am not in UK and want to order something from Illamasqua,I sent them email asking about how to find perfect shade of foundation for my skintone.
They replied me so fast,I couldn't believe.
I was told that they are going to be blogging about this issue next week.I thought it would be nice news for all of us who can't go and check Illamasqua in person :)

P.S. I was told that the right shade for my medium/yellow/neutral skintone can be 135 or 215.

Hope this helps :)

So,the packaging is adorable. It comes with a brush and instructions.Brush is quite nice and you can use it like this
Benefit

The product itself is nice if you have lighter skin.On my medium skin, the pink part looks white. It can be used for a highlight as you supposed to.But,if you thought that you can use it as a blush, unless you are really fair,I don't think it will work :)
The brown part is really light brown with nice shimmer and sheen. It can be used to contour your face or as a bronzer. But again,on my medium skin is really subtle bronze looking.Which is not bad things. It depends on what you are looking for from this product :)

All in all, this product is really nice. The price seems a bit high, but you get two products in one :)
I will save it for winter when I am less tanned :)

Price: $28.00
